Need conventions for writing commit messages
We need to add more consitency in out commit messages. I suugest the following rules to follow:
- Separate subject from body with a blank line
- Limit the subject line to 50 characters
- Capitalize the subject line
- Do not end the subject line with a period
- Use the imperative mood in the subject line
- Wrap the body at 72 characters
- Use the body to explain what and why vs. how
The rules above adopted from the article.
What would be the proper place to provide the rules? It looks like a chunk of CONTRIBUTE.md file. I think we should better add a for developer section into README.md.
@debol, @emortikov what do you think?
